Do-it- Yourself projects have grown in popularity over the past few years. This one can be slightly trickier, but updating your old chandelier or boring dining room light with a trendy new accent or pendant light make a huge difference.
3. Concrete Walkway.
You can buy pre-made concrete stepping stones, make your own with molds, or pour concrete sidewalks to frame your house or patio. Concrete walkways are a beautiful way to showcase your backyard and host the best barbecues.
4. Accent Wall. Paint, wallpaper, or paneling – take your pick!
It’s easy to choose a great new color or texture and transform a room in just a matter of hours. All you need is one wall and a few supplies!
5. Install Bead Board.
Bead board is an easy way to spruce up small spaces, like a bathroom, a kitchen island, hallway or entryway. Just cut out holes for outlets and other features, then carefully staple or nail into place over your walls.
6. Backsplash.
This is probably one of the most popular DIY projects because it’s easy and beautiful. You can use ceramic tile yourself, or buy sheets of pre-laid tile or other great textures like brick, wood, mosaic, etc. Install between your counters and cabinets for a great update to your kitchen or bathroom.
7. Reface Cabinets.
If your cabinets are old and dated, you can easily turn them into a modern feature of your kitchen. If they’re a light wood, you can try a stain. Otherwise, there are a variety of paints and finishes that, when combined with new hardware, can totally transform your kitchen.
